Branderburger Tor History

Image
The  Brandenburg Gate  (German:  Brandenburger Tor ) is an 18th-century neoclassical triumphal arch in Berlin, and one of the best-known landmarks of Germany. It is built on the site of a former city gate that marked the start of the road from Berlin to the town of Brandenburg an der Havel. It is located in the western part of the city centre of Berlin within Mitte, at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße, immediately west of the Pariser Platz. One block to the north stands the Reichstag building that houses the German parliament ( Bundestag ). The gate is the monumental entry to Unter den Linden, the renowned boulevard of linden trees, which led directly to the royal City Palace of the Prussian monarchs. It was commissioned by King Frederick William II of Prussia as a sign of peace and built by architect Carl Gotthard Langhansfrom 1788 to 1791. Having suffered considerable damage in World War II, the Brandenburg Gate was fully restored from 2000 to 2002 by the Stiftu

Berlin Tower History

Image
In 1964,   Walter Ulbricht , leader of the   Socialist Unity Party   which governed East Germany, decided to allow the construction of a television tower modelled on the Fernsehturm Stuttgart   and the first artificial Earth satellite,   Sputnik .   The TV tower had several architects. Its former design was done by   Hermann Henselmann , and Jörg Streitparth. It was built by the East German architects Fritz Dieter, Günter Franke and Werner Ahrendt between 1965-69. [2]   Walter Herzog, Gerhard Kosel and Herbert Aust later also took part in the planning. The Tower was deliberately constructed in the center of the historic medieval center of Berlin, resulting in the destruction of a huge portion of the historic center of the capital of Germany. A medieval church stands next to the tower as a testament to the destruction of the old city. Construction began on 4 August 1965. After four years of construction, the Fernsehturm began test broadcasts on 3 October 1969, and it was officially in

The Mistery NOAH'S ARK

Image
How long did it take Noah to build the ark?  The Bible does not specifically say how long it took Noah to build the ark. When Noah is first mentioned in Genesis 5:32, he was 500 years old. When Noah entered the ark, he was 600 years old. The time it took to build the ark would depend on how much time had passed between Genesis 5:32 and the time that God commanded Noah to build the ark (Genesis 6:14-21). At the absolute most, it took 100 years. How long was Noah on the ark?  Noah entered the ark in the 600th year of his life, on the 17th day of the 2nd month (Genesis 7:11-13). Noah left the ark on the 27th day of the 2nd month of the following year (Genesis 8:14-15). Therefore, assuming a lunar calendar of 360 days, Noah was on the ark for approximately 370 days. How many of each type of animal did Noah take on the ark?  Seven of each kind of clean animal and two of each kind of other animals were taken on the ark (Genesis 6:19-20; 7:2-3). By “clean” the Bible means animals t

History Colosseum Italy Rome

Image
HISTORY IN BRIEF : – The construction of this humongous amphitheatre was done by the Emperor Vespasian & it was started around 72 AD. The loot garnered from the ‘Jewish Temple’ during the  ‘Siege of Jerusalem’  was utilized for the construction of the ‘Colosseum’ which was built on a flat area between Caelian, Esquiline & Palatine Hills. The construction was done on the very site which, once upon a time, was occupied by a dense population of the city & which was devastated by the ‘Great Fire of Rome’. The land was grabbed by then  Emperor Nero , who used it for constructing his personal lavish palace & an artificial lake surrounded by specious amenities meant exclusively for Nero.

The Mistery Of Bermuda Triangle

Image
The Bermuda Triangle is a large area of ocean between Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. Over the last few centuries, it’s thought that dozens of ships and planes have disappeared under mysterious circumstances in the area, earning it the nickname “The Devil’s Triangle.” People have even gone so far as to speculate that it’s an area of extra-terrestrial activity or that there is some bizarre natural scientific cause for the region to be hazardous; but most likely, it’s simply an area in which people have experienced a lot of bad luck—the idea of it being a “vortex of doom” is no more real than Bigfoot or the Loch Ness Monster (see The Origin of the Bigfoot Legendand The Origin of the Loch Ness Monster). The Bermuda Triangle’s bad reputation started with Christopher Columbus. According to his log, on October 8, 1492, Columbus looked down at his compass and noticed that it was giving weird readings. He didn’t alert his crew at first, because having a compass that didn’t point to m
